In 1995 First Citizens (FC) implemented the “DataStore for Windows” data archiving solution from Hitec Laboratories in the UK, which is distributed and supported by Savannah Computing. This was the solution of choice for First Citizens.
DataStore was originally implemented to archive and retrieve computer generated information such as statements and internal reports.
Following many regular updates and requirements over the last 15 years, First Citizens have now upgraded to include the DS32 COLD and PDF file archiving capabilities to allow further user access to archived operational data.
“Keeping in pace with our business goals and objectives, we saw the need to improve on data access, faster turnaround time associated with retrieval and most importantly to improve our response levels to our customers. We decided therefore to upgrade our DataStore solution in order to achieve these results” commented Warren Sookdar, Chief Information Officer, Information and Communication Technology at First Citizens.
Jeremy Crame, Hitec CEO said “I am delighted that our first Customer in Trinidad continues to benefit from DataStore after fifteen years, and that the Bank has chosen to extend the use of DataStore even further”.
DataStore is also capable of archiving and indexing document images, native PDF documents, MS Office documents (Word, Excel, PPT and Email) as well as computer printed reports (COLD).
